BoB:SoW Campaign, will it be fun?
When I come to think of it... from the English side, will it just be a long string of intercept missions?
Or as a German, just cross the canal and bomb, or escort the bombers, over and over. It certainly will be fun for a while... but just how long a while? |

It will mainly come down to that, but I think it's gonna last pretty long, there's bombers to fly as well you know, but yes on the English side of the channel it will come down to patrolling and scrambling as fast as you can. But when the expansions come out, then we got a loooong long time to enjoy the game.

Given that the game includes a FMB, the Community will sure build additional campaigns to the ones the game may bring from the factory, so there will be fun for sure, as it is with Il-2.

S!
The BoB campaign is just that what you said, either intercept as RAF or escort/bomb as Luftwaffe. Done a countless times already. But it is online and future expansions/additions that will spring SoW to full swing IMO, show it's true potential as what happened with IL-2 back in time |

I hope that the game has a save continue later feature for your progress. Very handy if you just run out of time, by orders from the little lady.

So, are you saying that 1c are being lazy introducing Storm of War with a relatively easy to create campaign?
I think it makes sense, it was one of the first major air battles/campaigns in the war and to me beginning SoW early in the war is great. Hopefully they will continue with expansions based on a certain battles or campaigns and introduce them in approximately the order they occurred. The first expansion might for instance be called Storm of War: East Africa. The other way to do it would be to go by order of popularity, and surely that has its merits, for one it would probably generate profit faster as the big campaigns and theatres are better known and has more famous aircraft in them. Personally though I think that the best way would be to do it in a chronological order and to keep expansions centered around a specific battle or campaign, with the expansion supplying maps and aircraft as needed. Where applicable these maps could then be reused for later expansions with newer aircraft and a new campaign. This way 1c could possibly generate more profit and a larger customer base in the long run as also smaller and less known battles and campaigns would have their place and would get the attention they deserve instead of being lost as small insignificant add-ons after all the big guns already been introduced. Well, that's what I think. |

I'm really hoping for a Blenheim campaign. Battle of the barges, airfield strikes, medium and low level bombing. Not to mention the anti-shipping "beats" off the coast of France and Holland. The only thing though, with a historial 30% average loss rate for every mission, the campaign would likely be short and always end the same way.
