Default Storm of War Campaigns Server

Due to the enjoyment and success of our 2nd multisquadron campaign we decided to give the mob want they want! - More SoWC missions!

Our server is now public.

Storm of War Campaigns Server

&

Storm of War Dogfights Server

Storm of War Dogfights:

Our dogfights server is a full realism dogfight server using small streamlined maps for best performance. No weather, Full realism except Anthropomorphic. Very light AA/A. Direct connection through Steam link available on SoWC forums where you will also find a button to check your stats.

Storm of War Campaigns:

SoWC Server is committed to giving the community realistic and historically accurate missions in a progressive timeline. You will see aircraft limitation and FLAK changes as the Battle rolls on. Sometimes airbases will have been knocked out in the previous mission and be virtually unusable. So it is a changing enviroment.

We operate a “no rules” policy, if you are in the server you are a target. Obviously those hacking and cheating will be banned as well as those who deliberately ram other aircraft blatantly.

The missions are taken straight from the history books and we do not try and “balance” the missions or make it “fair”. In doing so the targets and objectives are realistic with a multitude of attacks from both high, medium and low altitudes from a range of aircraft and sometimes different types of aircraft at the same time - just like it was in real life! - Not just AI bombers flying circuits and attacking seemingly random objectives.

Unfortunately the number of AI bombers we can include in a single mission must be kept at a maximum minimum, enough so it feels like the Battle of Britain but not too many as to grind the clients PC to stand still on frames per second.

Settings

Full Realism settings except Anthropomorphic.

Weather

Due to the performance issues we are currently running minimum clouds, as much as we want clouds and wind, it's simply does not make for good performance and is currently not recommended for multiplayer by MG.

Bomber Pilots

SoWC server is not an "air quake" style server, if you just like dog fights and a quick fix then maybe you should look elsewhere. We have bomber objectives for all missions for both red and blue although the red objectives are somewhat limited. In the mission briefings you will find rendezvous points for blue bombers so you can meet up and fly with the formation!

The Royal Air Force Bomber Command do not attack as AI formations in our missions simply because we could not find any missions where RAF BC attacked any part of the current map we have to any great effect. However as previously mentioned we have included some theoretical and realistic objectives for red bomber pilots.

Highley detailed briefings

Our aim is immersion! We know how annoying it can be when big orange letters appear across your view just as you are aiming at a target or dog fighting - so we only put things in the brief. Our Briefings are highly detailed with rondezvous given at several waypoints which also include in mission time, grid (for example AX36.6) and altitude. The course of attacking bomber formations are also given so you can really plan your flight and not just be led on a mystery tour.

Standerdized Grid Map System

In conjuction with VO101_Tom's fantastic airfield maps which can be found:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthr...516#post456516

here we have implemented a standerdized grid on all our maps.

Statistics

For those that like stats we have them! We are using the Warbirds of Prey Style stats kindly given to us by Wildwillie - thanks WW! It is still under developement but it does give a good indication of your sorties.

Direct Connection Link

On the Storm of War Campaigns forum you will see a button that with just one press will connect you directly to our server through Steam bypassing the loading screens and without the need to search for our server in the multiplayer list.

Missions

Missions are currently set to run for 90 mins which should give enough time for two 40 min sorties and probably three or four sorties if you are flying red. We dont shy away from the Western side of the map like some "hardcore" servers. Experience the Battle of Britain with us!

The current missions running are:

BoB1

July 1940

Kanalkampf. This mission simulates attack on English shipping in the channel.

BoB2

12th August 1940

The day before Adlertag. Eprogruppe 210 attack several radar stations in a low level daring raid to establish whether deep strikes in England were possible and if the Chain Home Stations could be "blinded".

BoB3

15 of August 1940

Adlerangriff. Attacks by II./St.G1 Ju87 on Rye and Dover Radar and RAF airfields Hawkinge and Lympne.

BoB4

15 of August 1940

Dornier of KG3 under wrong intelligence bomb Coastal Command Eastchurch and Rochester airfield where the short Sterling bomber is being assembled.

BoB5

18th of August 1940

The lunchtime raid on RAF Kenley and Biggin Hill. This day would later be known as "the hardest day" due to the high level of attrition on both sides.

BoB6

18th of August 1940

The lesser publicized attack by Ju87, again under wrong intelligence, on Coastal Command aerodrome of Thorney Island, Fleet Air Arm aerodrome of Gosport and Ford and Polling Radar Station

BoB7

7th September 1940

What later became known as the first day of the Blitz. Unbeknown to Oberkommando der Luftwaffe RAF Fighter Command is on the brink of collapse. Its is believed that aircraft production is off setting any losses and so an industrial focus is taken.

This raid was just like any other which targeted the RAF airfields, the same approach and altitude fooled the RAF into thinking the targets where airfields again which accounts for some of the success of this large raid.

Future Intentions

Currently only the Battle of Britain exists as a legitimate experience however we may look into an operation sea lion (invasion of England) scenario and of course we will add the Eastern front when “the sequel” finally arrives. We intend only to add theatres and play them all rather than only run missions on the latest theatre which in our opinion was a problem in 1946 fb with servers usually only running 1944/45 experiences. So in short we aim in the future to have an all sorts server.

Steam Group

You can also join our Steam Group by searching on Steam for "Storm of War Campaigns" or "SoWCs" and get upto the minute announcements on news and events.

Feel free to leave feed back, make suggestions and ask questions both here and on the forum above!

I agree...sounds very promising.

One question, I did not see it in your post.....what version of CloD? Latest Beta? or last official by Steam Patch?

Thanks

Cool!

I did find the version in your original post....hidden in the "Missions" portion.

You may want to edit it also.
