Default IL2-COD Handbook.....awestruck

Ok, I got my hands on a German IL2-COD handbook. Just reading through it, and all I can say is WOW...I am pretty much awestruck by the depth of the possibilities and the simulation.

I have quickly run some passages through google translator. Sorry for the Google speak....
These are just some highlights I thought were interesting, but there is a LOT more.

Most gun sights during the Battle of Britain were reflex sights with a lamp in the visor housing .. To prolong the life of the bulb, this was not switched on constantly .. She could be on during a dogfight and later be turned back .. Most visors also has an adjustable brightness to compensate for different lighting conditions. You can reduce or increase the brightness of the gun sight.

This is what is all about. You can't see this in screenshots and videos.

The sim seems to have an awful lot of very complex simulation and calculation under the hood. I think that is where it really shines. And the customization possibilities are amazing.
Just started here to quote some examples from the hand book, but there is really a lot more. Running it through Google translator is a pain though, it somehow doesn't like copy pasting from a pdf.

Agreed - you don't need to be Einstein to see the complexity under the hood.
