Steam version mod guide?

Hello,

I've been looking around for a guide for installing HSFX 7.0.1 on top of my steam version of Il-2 1946 4.12.2.

Unfortunately, in virtually every thread I look in, the OP gets a link to some other forum which then confuses me further.

I head I needed some special Direct to Drive patch in addition to ModAct and the HSFX 7 and 7.0.1 files for my steam version but I simply don't know where to begin and I don't know the order of instasll or how to use any of the D2D or ModAct files. I've already backed up my files on another HDD so I can just overwrite everything if I fail but that's as far as I can get without getting confused.

My friends and I eventually just want to play versus AI in all the new HSFX planes that aren't available in any other sim except this exceptionally fun sim.
