'Spotter Used'....?
An interested party wants to know more about the "Spotter Used" checkbox on the Artillery Object Properties tab in FMB:

Pretty much correct, an artillery unit with the Spotter box checked won't engage at all unless an aircraft is at a spotter waypoint nearby. It won't fire on its own volition, however it will keep engaging at will after a spotter is destroyed (not sure if this is intentional or not). I'm not sure how (or if) spotters affect accuracy, or how close the spotter plane needs to be to the enemies and/or artillery pieces.
On a side note, TD, would it be possible at some point to give ships the Spotter checkbox as well (but obviously allow AA defenses to remain active)? |
