Default 109 engine doesn't rev above 1400. Bug or user error?

I was using the cross country mission to practice circuits today in the 109s. For some reason at full throttle I can't get the E1, E3 and Eb to rev above 1400 RPM. E4's are fine. Am I missing something or is this a regression in the new patch?

Using version 1.09.20111

You must set a button in your profiles to lncrease and decrease prop pitch! then with this button try to keep prop RPM at ca 2300Rpm. For take off, use MAX prop pitch!

The E4 has automatic prop pitch and that is why it works differently.

Be aware, there is a long lasting bug in game will make your prop pitch start at minimum when you start on ground. Even for the E4!! For the E4 you must then deselect automatic prop pitch then increase it manually to max and then reselect automatic proppitch! annoying yes!!

not true. the automatic pitch for E4 starts in 12 o'clock position, and only if you'll switch it off it will start decreasing towards 9 o'clock (though you can stop it at any time by just pressing any of the manual up/down prop pitch buttons).

over-reving won't occur in the E4's automatic prop pitch mode.

in all E models on manual propeller pitch mode, it will happen after a while if you fly level with full throttle and prop pitch on 12 o'clock (which will continuously increase the rev), or when you're diving if you won't throttle back and feather the propeller too.

it won't over-rev while climbing.

Thanks guys!

They'd make it a lot easier for newbies like me if the pitch was set to fine on the ground. Same with the air start in the spitfire. Why is the radiator closed?

These annoyances aside, having a great time with the game.

Sorry but did you not make a little and easy made mistake and mistaken the engine manifold for the rpm?

these guys are making it super complicated...

The only 109 with automatic pitch is the E4, the E4's auto prop pitch needs to be turned off till you hit 2500 rpm, and manually lower the pitch a bit to 2350 rpm. the auto pitch gets stuck if you leave it at full pitch and turn it on, or turn it on before your engine reaches full rpms.
other than that, just manually keep ur pitch so ur engine spins around 2300-2500 rpms

its that simple.

the 109 is a OCD persons dream cause of the manual prop pitch
