Hello,
I have recently revisited this game, and apparently there is a new HLA version out (v0.5). There is an installer and everything is very nice, except - id doesn't work for me... Req say that version 1.11 is required, I have english version and it says v1.11 in the main window. But when I try to start new game after installing HLA - I CTD and report is generated. In the log folder it crashes when reaching a line: 00:24.513 FATAL [0] .\Shop\ShopEconomics.cpp (324) Invalid item in economy: 'Whisky', shop: Áàðìåí_27645 (Áàðìåí = barmen in kirilica) Since I barely can read russian - searching/reading official HLA add-on forum is a huge pain in the a... bottom ![]() So I wanted to ask - did some |

I belive it only works with the RUS version plus some files from the ENG but I'm not sure.
I'd like to add a question though: Is there any news about the translatable version of HLA? |

The latest version works with the Russina 7.62 and a few files from 7.62 Reloaded. I'm not sure it works with the English 7.62, and if it does you need to use van-d-all's clean-up script.
Dancer said a long time ago that a translated version might be released when the final version of HLA is released. To translate it now would just be in vain since it would have to be done again and again... When will the final version be released? When it's ready ![]() |

I do seem to remember something about the 0.5 version to be translation friendly.
I belive the vast majority of updates adds new stuff so translating the parts that are ready is not going to be a complete waste. I don't care about proper english, even raw machine translation would do. OCRing every single frame is a serious pain that takes away all the pleasure of this otherwise awesome mod. What about giving us the text file after every major version change for babelfishing or whatever so that it could be added as a hotfix soon after? Or is that technically impossible? |

Since I don't have anything to do with the HLA, I can't actually give you a precise answer, but from my experiences with the German version of BSM I can say that it would mean a lot of work in vain. Since the quest files constantly gets fixed and updated, one would have to go through those files again and again. And if it's a language you don't understand, it makes it even more difficult. And the ones writing the code would have to have 2 sets of files and changing them both.
If the source code that was release had included the exporter, the part that exports all lines and journal entries into the E6Q.TXT file, then it would be a matter of just translating the new additins. But that is not the case and I think Dancer and Deadhead are far to busy to start working with 2 sets of source files. But you could ask them yourself at the HLA site. |

Nah, I won't bugger them, they already do a fabulous job. Seems like I will have to put up with OCR if I need my daily dose of gunpr0n. Thanks for the answers.
