reboot: Alarm signal & Vertex

In SRII (mark I) I used to love to collect vertexes. I would often fly with three of the best and sell the rest. In Reboot I have yet to get a single Vertex. Most of the time they toss out the menthoprod, tech-detector and maybe a dianode or pixilite. Rarely I might get a weapon, such as a turbogravir or maybe a torpedo launcher, but never a vertex. Is there any trick to getting a dominator to give up its vertex?
