Game servers still active in 2016
This web page can be useful for those who are looking for game servers to fly. Some of them do not appear at Hyperlobby.

Nice, good to see some activity still, though in the evenings in my timezone (Pacific) most of those servers are fairly dead.
Here's what I know about the ones listed here: Skies-of-Valor: closed pit but with external views, stock. Sometimes they experiment with no external views. Very good historical maps, missions, and plane-sets, lots of good pilots. Too bad they're still 4.12. AleXserver: closed pit with external views, stock. Limited number of maps without real objectives. Plane-sets are not historical, they're of the "all axis planes of a given year vs all allied planes of a given year" type. Small maps and still decent crows means you can have a lot of fun on this server for a while, but eventually the limited number of maps and unimaginative plane-sets will bore you. IRSS dogfights. Open pit "Air-Quake" type of server. Good for reactive players as opposed to thinking ones. Try it if you want to get into a quick fight, test some new planes or maneuvers, check your turn-and-burn and get-out-of trouble abilities. Don't stay too long or the wonder-woman view will spoil your gunnery. Frontovoe Nebo (Skies over the Front). Full switch (except for speedbar) war campaign server, stock. Register on their website (il2.org.ru, it's in Russian, Google Translate is your friend) and take part in Eastern Front "wars" that last several weeks. Your personal success will determine your rank and the quality of planes available to you, your side's success will determine the number of airfields available to you on a map and will influence your personal score too. Very engaging server, good for all sorts of pilots: high-alt bombers, ground-pounders, dog-fighters. There are recon and bomber escort missions too. Unfortunately the servers is down with technical issues quite often, and they had some bugs when they introduced 4.13 that may not have been resolved yet. Stenka_war. I have not tried this one but I heard it's a lot like Frontovoe Nebo except it requires a mod. Battle-fields.com. They had two servers, one open-pit and one closed-pit. They both had well designed maps, plane-sets, friendly mods and players. Not sure which one is still up, but you could probably fly closed-pit in the open pit server if you wanted, it's not Air-Quake, you wouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage. |

Regarding il2org.ru - agree, this is good place to fly. I just signed in recently and will come certainly come back. Good place to test your navigational and tactical skills. CAS pilots beware: flak is very intense, so don't rush to any "soft" target you might encounter.
By the way, I find this little program very helpful: IL2SFBConnector. It requires manual input of IP addresses, but once done you have full list of servers with all their specs: pilots online, complexity settings, etc. Download link: http://il2-sturmovik.ru/il2sfbconnector.html

List of IPs copied from history.txt file of my IL2SFBConnector.
Some of those servers are not active always, there are specialised duel and race sites and those which require registration. Enjoy. 185.91.117.32:21015 194.44.192.144:21000 194.44.192.144:21004 194.58.118.230:21000 212.192.155.118:21000 217.78.176.50:21000 217.78.176.50:21003 217.78.176.50:21021 80.193.227.232:21000 85.113.41.253:21002 88.84.193.174:21000 91.202.24.7:21000 axa.servegame.com:21001 axa.servegame.com:21005 axa.servegame.com:21006 blackbomber.sytes.net:21000 il2.corbina.ru:21001 il2.hl.ua:21001 il2.interzet.ru:21000

I think we all should be grateful to those guys running http://il2.com.ru/en/links.php.
And I just refreshed the list of servers in my IL2SFB Connector. Many were not active for long time, probably they will never come back. Sigh. Added one which is new for me: Kiwi at War. 121.75.7.151:21000. (Can be seen in HL as well). A lot of "historical" and non historical maps. Some are quite challenging for bomber/fighter-bomber missions. AI allies and enemies. I saw no players there and their forum looks as abandoned since 2016. Still I recommend to try - at least to pound some moving ground/naval targets or to have fun with AI. Happy flying in online skies

I know some servers using FBDJ were having problems using 4.13.anything. Something about not being able to update it. But there are a few good servers still out there. I haven't tried kiwis yet.

Still, in my list, there are at least 2 servers with FBDj on 4.13.4. Orel War is my favourite so far. I looked at Kiwi yesterday once again and went through different maps with "vote" command. Number of maps is endless, I counted at least twenty in two days of checking and none of them repeated. Most of them (or all?) have AI in the air. Good mixture of historical scenarios and something "just for fun". I found one map of "Kiwis vs Diggers" battle. Cool.

CadMan, many thanks for detailed info!
Dynamic IP...so we can't find the server through IL2Connect and IL2SFB Connector. OK, no problem as long it is visible in Hyperlobby. The list of missions is impressive and exceeds any expectations. Fantastic. I'm afraid to ask how many hours were spent on their creation. Number of a/c types is so rich as I didn't see for years in multiplay. Probably ping is high for those of us in Europe. For me it was 300 last week and red indicator in HL right now. But hope we can fly there anyway. If you have data cap, I assume the outages are more likely at the end of each month?

Most issues are the Hyperlobby client crashing, "stopped working"
Dedicated is still is running IP can stay valid for months until provider sends reset or Router gets rebooted, random Data Cap is mid month and only trips if the wife has a netflix binge.... First started mission building for original il-2 v1.1+ for COOP and NZ hosted DF using Dial Up 56k !! Hundreds missions out of rotation, all needing updating. Always try to work to a theme or event from history. Crap planes are fun !! Dont want to think about hours spent in editor
