Default I think FRAPSisn't reporting the accurate FPS on this game

I'm running it completely maxed, at 1680x1050. FRAPS reports around 15-25 FPS (which should be unplayable, with lots of stuttering) but I don't notice anything, the game runs quite smoothly. Is there a way to get an accurate report on the FPS?

It seems like Necrovision behaves differently then other games, when running with poor FPS. It seems like the whole game somehow slow itself down, when having poor FPS. Therefore it doesn`t seem so much choppy as other games, while having low FPS..

I think fraps is accurate.. Game is pretty HW demanding, when all details are maxed and when using higher resolutions.

Just try lowering your details and see if you have better feeling when having , lets say, 40-60 FPS.

I was playing only demo on my q6600@2.4ghz and 8800gts 640mb. I noticed that ambient occlusion option is very demanding so I turned it off and it was playing avg50 dropping to 30-35 with many enemies and explosions. I've made some tests:

1440x900, all max except noAA
ambient occlusion: OFF - 51fps
ambient occlusion: low - 22fps
ambient occlusion: high - 22fps

so try to disable ambient occlusion, it doesnt give much difference in quality comparing to performance hit , I think it is not for todays hardware, the same I have with Burnout Paradise: ambient occlusion off: 60fps, on: max 25fps
