Trap medal?

I've tried to search but have been unable to find an answer to my question.

I've recently began playing, and just started over because i learned about the medals you can get etc etc. So, ofc i want that nifty trap medal. I've been slapping out traps all over, but still im only on 2/10 on traps? How is this?

Does the trap need to kill the group or something to count?

And so i found my own answer. It has to deliver the killing blow.

...Which is a little annoying at first, since early on you'll end up using a good deal of mana on traps which'll only finish off the last few units in each stack (instead of potentially killing many times more) - but once you get to around rank 2, you can rely on the natural probability of killing a stack for each of the two pre-laid traps, plus whatever traps you may lay afterwards, to get you to rank 3 ... awesome medal IMO.
