Default Playing via LAN

Sorry didn't find any matching topics...

Me and my friends intend to fly together in a LAN network. I tried it with a friendwith the ingame setup. But we always got an error message if one makes a server and the other one tries to connect.

What do we need to do to set it up. Hyperlobby? And if yes, how is the setup done for a LAN (non-dedicated) sever? Thanks...

If you are using a router to connect via lan you need to change the port on the host or client pc, they cant use the same port behind the router.

You can change the IL2 port number in the Setup icon in the game installation folder under the network tab.

EG:

One the server is launched use start IL2 on the other PC then use Multiplay>Join Server>Search for Local Server>192.168.0.6:21001

*******************
192.168.0.5:21000

192.168.0.6:21001

UDP 21000 Client

UDP 21001 Host

Well it didn't work. I did everything like you said. Host to 21001 and client port to 21000. No luck. This message appeared, when my colleague wanted to join:

The communication with the remote host is lost: Timeout 1.

Sometimes he could see me, when he tried to connect, sometimes not. Isn't there a more simple way or tool? Is a dedicated server a solution?
