Default Install Question?

I have an SSD drive that I have ROF installed onto and I still have a fair amount of space on it (50 GB). Steam and my steam games (about 40 GB) however are located on my regular hard drive (space is not an issue here). I was hoping to install COD on my SSD drive though. It has been my experience that steam wants to install all of its games wherever the Steam folder is though (in this case my regular hard drive. Is there anyway to install and run CoD on my SSD drive without moving Steam to the SSD drive?

Thanks

I have seen a procedure to move the Steam folder from the boot drive to another drive.

So I think what you want to do is quite possible.

Unfortunately I can not remember where I saw it.

You might find something here:

I can't just move my steam folder to the SSD even though it's a 160GB version my steam folder is simply too large.

I was thinking about disconnecting my data drive, install steam on the SSD but I'm not sure this will work...

If this doesn't work there is a tool available that allows you to store a game that you don't want to play in a certain drive freeing up space. Then if you want to play the game you stored again you can transfer if back to the SSD.

Will try this first

If I were to leave steam on my D drive and shell link clod would I get the benefits of the SSD or would I require steam to be installed on the SSD?
