Default Hanks and Spielberg developing WW2 8th Airforce Mini series

I dont know about you guys but I loved Band of Brothers and The Pacific so I have high hopes for this.Just a few days ago I was just thinking they both could make a mini series focused on the air combat during WW2 , so these are good news for me, I hope you guys feel the same way.

Band of Brothers was great.

The Pacific bored me to tears. Zero character development.

I hope they keep the CGI to a minimum in this new venture, last thing I want to see is the kind of clap trap they did with "Red Tails".

I give it a 50/50 chance of being OK, and about 30/70 of being great.

Im with you on the thoughts of Red Tails. That movie was plain horrible, unbelievable dialogue, awful acting and the combat scenes made me not want to finish watching it.I also preferred Band Of Brothers but The Pacific was an eye opener for me to the island hopping campaign which I knew close to nothing about it.

Band of Brothers had you connecting with the main characters right from episode one, fantastic series.

Pacific was all over the place, individual episodes were very good but overall it was a fail.

Red Tails never made it here so cannot comment on it.

BoB is still on my all time list.. P was good.. it had it's moments.. RT was bad... very bad. I was so disappointed. Most of The Airmen I know were as well.. and I know several from the E.C.C.T.A.I. The best part about that movie was the fight scenes.. and some of them were suspect and all of them were tainted by the dialog. That had to be one of the absolute worst .. I mean worst scripts I have ever heard. Even the score was hokey.

Band of Bombers??? Sounds great!

I certainly agree about the Pacific. They missed the mark there in the way the thing was paced and delivered. Red Tails was an order of magnitude worse though, and I found I had to turn the volume down and watch the last half of the movie in silence. It was the first time I've ever had to do that.

If you're in the mood for a bomber flick check out "Fortress".

Although I would have done things a bit differently if they had asked me I thought it was well done overall.

I started watching Fortress some time ago. Haven't finished it yet but the idea seems sound. The actors have a very limited range however. Watching them stand as a group and try to portray hangovers or fatigue is hilarious as they experiment with different facial expressions.
