Default Encouraging Dev Update on BOS

A little wary of even posting this given the recent goings on, but I'm sure some people here will be interested.

http://forum.il2sturmovik.net/topic/...ary/#entry8196

More info on what can be expected with BOS, and from this person's perspective some interesting (and slightly surprising) stuff.
(specifically: higher poly models than COD, more accurate FMs than COD, and hints towards (?) an active ground war)

Should be particularly good news for the 'it's just ROF in WW2' crowd...or maybe not?

Still early days and still very much "wait and see" I suspect. The quality of the dev diary is excellent and certainly inspires confidence though. It is a sign of good effective management and a well organised team. It puts some other developers efforts to shame.

Still reeling from the revelations about the I-16's poor low speed handling and difficulties to operate. Sets things on thir ear a bit. Sounds like effective CEM in the BoS one would be absorbing to say the least.

Clearly you are a 777 spy!

It was a encouraging blog post, I approached the initial news with caution but every week they say a bit more about it and they have thus far addressed a lot of issues.

After this post, it is clear that we are not dealing with "ROF with a WWII paintjob", shame there are a small few on this forum that will refuse to believe it even if it is staring them in the face.

That said, due to this project still being a bit far off, I am going to keep my attention on the CloD modding, I am excited to see what comes out of it.

lol i bet you are a good customer for the shopping channel on tv to all that shines isnt gold, and the infomercial marketing hype that you will see from the RoF-BS campaign in the next 12 months is not equal to the end-product description

what i do think is rather funny, in a sad kinda way, is that you are responding like an enthusiastic little puppy at all things RoF-BS (a product which is non existent), yet you didnt have the common courtesy to provide positive constructive feedback to a far more superior product which already existed and was 75% completed

and another oddity in your behavior is that you come and post the RoF-BS trivia here ( a CoD forum), yet you and your Rof-BS chums eagerly support the marketing censorship at the RoF forums which prevent any normal discussion and comparison with other products.

see there is good news about CoD's progress you should have noticed, maybe that would be something to discuss in the CoD forum instead ?

Hi virtual pilots!

With the recent announcement that 1C has dropped further development of IL2 Cliffs of Dover, a group of talented programmers and modders called "Team Fusion" have been steadily working on future developments. The 1st internal test version for release candidate 1 is now under full internal testing.

Some of the bug fixes include:

- Flight model correction and the atmospheric engine fixed - This includes historically correct flight models and the high altitude bug being squashed. You will now be able to fly at proper altitudes.

- MP contrails are now visible by every pilot

- Bringing back the original look of weathering and reflections. This also includes the introduction of cockpit glass and cockpit gauge reflections. Depending on sunlight conditions the glass in your cockpit may even have cloud reflections.

- The in-game prop reflections have been greatly improved

- a new device link interface that allows all you virtual pilots with sim pits the ability for device link via IL2 Cliffs of Dover. This has been programmed so ONLY the instruments you have in the particular aircraft you are flying will register with Device link. This has been done to prevent any sort of exploitation of the system

- Numerous bug fixes to various attributes of the aircraft. This includes fixes such as the way fuel delivery works (tank to tank to engine) to incorrect placement of gauges all based on historical accuracy.

- Seasonal map changes of the English Channel map - This includes the standard English Channel Summer map with greatly improved textures, to an Autumn, and Winter versions of the same map

With that said, the 1st patch will focus on what we believe is the most glaring issue of the sim - the flight models. Once we are happy with the accuracy of all aircraft flight models, we will be purging ahead with many other bug fixes and additional content.

The ongoing progress can be seen here: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ral-Discussion

Thank you,

Team Fusion
now is that worth discussing in the CoD forum instead ?

but wait there is more, the same group that already succesfully made those improvements is also working on further improvements, like a better COOP method that makes it easier for unskilled people to use that function, fixing the visibility bubble etc.. now THAT is newsworthy in a CoD forum !!

its marketing spin and product pre promotion, and only indicated the activity of the marketing department, and is not actual end-product content description

you'r reeling pretty easy, try and grow some backbone for a change. hint: go cheering at RoF-BS at their forum, and limit your participation in CoD forums to constructive participation on that product

lol and your unimaginative, all you can do is repeating the insult i have been using for the teen forum vandals that have been trolling here ? got anything original to say ?

or maybe just try and participate here with something positive and constructive about CoD instead, you know, that's the forum you'r in here after all. the purpose for visiting THIS location for "normal" visitors is to constructively discuss CoD and help each other enjoy the CoD sim, rather then the constant toxic troll behavior you'r usually exhibiting

Zapatista...

We are all disappointed (and to some extent angry) that the development of CloD ended, but at least we should give BoS a chance...
It´s not the BoS-Dev´s fault that CloD was given up, that was the 1C-management...

All that negativity... it just doesn´t help.
