Its not like HMM3. Its like a game called Fantasy General. Its all about army makeup, troop movement, and terrain.

Fantasy Wars had a little bit of the equipment collection of HMM3. There were many extremely helpful items that you had to make time to collect while also keeping your turns low to get other helpful items.

Its still completely different. There isn't any economy although some player made maps added one. Heroes are are very importent to strategy but are mostly like normal units. There isn't any city management. You don't buy units very often in the middle of a map. Unit loss is very devastating. You need to keep most units alive from level to level during a campaign. Lowering morale of units is very big part of strategy.

Unhappy fantasy wars to elven legacy... should i buy if i have the first?

i have and enjoyed fantasy wars. and so when i first saw info on elven legacy, i was excited for more strategy.

however, multiple reviews i've read now indicate that if you already own fantasy wars then this game is not worth getting... (one such review is Out of Eight). I'm just wondering why that might be the case. Is it the same game with just a couple extra missions? Why are reviewers telling owners of Fantasy Wars to skip this one? is the campaign really that short that $30 is just far too steep?

sorry, not trying to bring anyone down here. just wondering why the great reviews - unless you already own fantasy wars...
