Flickering black and white upon launch

Hi,

I have the STEAM version of the game installed on vista x64, with the latest nvidia drivers installed however upon launch the screen flickers black and white and i have to ctr + alt del to get back to desktop.

can anyone shed any light on how i may be able to fix this?

EDIT: I have gtx260, 6g RAM and core i7 920

Try to disable secondary display if you have it.

However, my second monitor was not even plugged in when I attempted to launch.

Cryostasis failed to launch for me while secondary display (a HD TV) was enablen in nvidia control panel. It worked after i disabled it (unchecked in display list).
What is your display mode (resolution and refresh rate)?
