I'm interested in trying this. But I've bought king's bounty through Steam. Will this be an issue?

No, but the instructions from the OP will only work to an extent (there is no Red Sands 1.3 anymore).

I updated the original thread with a slightly simpler method and included in what directory Red Sands is in as a steam user since I use the steam version as well.
