I have to be honest I've joined the dark side. I saw both Borderlands and Forza 3 on sale last weekend and decided to trade in IL2. The MP was underpopulated from day one, especially on realistic and sim mode, the patch turned into vapourware, the German cockpits never materialised, unrealistic goals for MP unlocks and 800msp for the DLC all told me this game was never going to have a decent community or worth hanging onto.

Shame I wanted this game for years, but that they never tested it enough to find out it's very hard to be credited with a kill online, killed this game stone dead online, the day it launched. Most people tried it once and never came back, that's if they were lucky enough not to be confused by the stupid message about the server being down when there were simply no servers running when searching and had actually found a game.

I'll probably be back if they ever make a sequel, but FFS test the MP next time, a shoot down = a kill and better lobbies please.

Thanks for the game - it's brilliant. I'm personally sick of all the whinging on these forums. I'm having a ball playing it and if I have to wait a little while for the patch - no big deal.

Ordered an aviator today on the back of how good this game is. I know the patches will make it even better and also hopefully you will make enough to develop other games like this.

Yours happily

No I still have BS-P.

It's still underpopulated online but during the evening and weekends servers are always to be found.

I would have loved IL BOP to have been a treasured keeper game for me like the BS games because I do niche/realistc/sim and enjoy it, but as much as I loved dogfighing in my Spit Mk XVI it was nearly impossible to ever find a game. I must have played the same 20 people ever only.

I'll be back for the sequel (fingers crossed we get one) but I want a much better MP set up and less division of players across 3 difficulties, scrap arcade and sim and make realistic an excellent balance between them. Realistc flight models, gunnery and damage with arcade style view, padlocks and navigation. One community, one game.
