Dragon slayer bug?

I've just been kiting Nameless, completing the two free quests, when I got caught by a black dragon army. My default troops were all slower than the dragons by default, so my army got annihilated and I was defeated (=sent back to King Frederick). Funny thing is, I received the first Dragon slayer medal!

Anyone had this happen? Or any other weird (but welcome) glitches?
