Default Bumps maps from Codemned Heroes look better than Vanilla MoW - 3dmax Bump problems

Basically I can make really nice looking bump maps, like the image on the right of the picture posted below, however after exporting via 3dsmax, the bump map losses all its 'Depth' and ends up looking, very blue and flat (Like the image on the left which is a Vanilla MoW vehicle bump map).

I put my bump maps in the normal map section of the material section, so Im not putting them in the wrong place, its just that 3dsmax is doing something to my bump maps which sapps all the depth and colour from them.

[LEFT vanilla vehicle bump map]....................................[RIGHT Codemned heroes human bump map]

Any help from 3dsmax experts or developers would be greatly appreciated.
