Dynamic Campaign Question

So I'm new to the game, and in general find the flight model itself enjoyable. Though thus far I've been a bit let down with the dynamic campaign generator. Granted it's an older game, but for instance my USN Pacific Campaign has basically seen me be a part of an unescorted 4 plane SBD Dauntless squadron that inevitably goes up against a throng of Zekes to try to bomb a ship, and running the gauntlet of Dive Bombers vs CAP with no escort is getting a bit frustrating.


I just picked this up from Good Old Games, 2.0.4.10 (which doesn't seem to be the latest), so I'm mostly just curious if any sort of mods have come out to make the dynamic campaign a bit more interesting, or if it'd be best if I stuck with a static campaign.

As I understand it, the pacific campaigns are scripted not dynamic.

No... they are using the dynamic campaign generator... they are just incredibly poor. The eastern front version is much better.
