Default Screenshots Question

When I had Pacific Fighters, I could have sworn there was a way to take screen shots, that would be a frame from game, that you could switch views on ect, as if you had paused Ntrk or game.

Am I wrong?, was a long time ago, and maybe I did just pause game, but I'm sure that it was a screen shot I was using.
