Default Help Demo won't run at all

I get the loading screen, then it goes to a black screen then finally back to windows with this error:

Could Not Create fluid
Probably invalid parameters.

Windows Vista ultimate 64bit
Intel quad core 2.8
ATI 4870
Soundblaster x-fi

no problems running another other games.
