Default Excavator Ability

Does anyone know exactly what is affected by this? Does it affect gold won after battle, gold in chests, etc.?

Thanks,
Curtis

Excavator? If you talk about treasure searcher, it affects the number of objects that can be dug out in combat. That, in term, is affected by the place where the battle takes place (tougher islands like reha provide the best spoils and the highest chance to dig out runes, wanderers' spells and the most gold).

I hope that answers your question.

Pirates and Sea Dogs have excavator passive ability. Apparently it suppose to increase gold from chests found or dug on the battlefield. If your pirates open a chest for 4400 gold , the extra 400 is from excavator.

There's also a 'feature' of this ability. If you have a unit with excavator in reserve you still get the 10% extra gold. I typically find one of these units before I pick up any chests for this purpose.
