Default Demo crash on startup?

Anybody else that downloaded the Russian demo get an error when you try to load the game? I get the "pp3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

AppName: pp3.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.5781 Offset: 00012afb

Does this have something to do with SSE2 support? My Athlon XP 2700+ meets the speed requirements as per the ReadMe, and everything else meets the req's too. All my drivers are up to date, I feel like I tried everything. 4x4 Hummer plays fine.

It seems like this is a fairly common problem with other games running this engine. Everything I read about the GNovodexSDK Assertion error is related to the PhysX drivers but even after I run Driver Sweep and reinstall the latest drivers from Nvidia I still get the same error.

Any ideas? Honestly, I'm planning on building a brand new machine within the next couple months, but there isn't really a reason it shouldn't run on this rig.

Hi guys,

I've got a problem. I tried to install the game, but it doesn't work. The installation seems to be successful, but the game just doesn't start : a message pops up :
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application"

So I tried to install the patch (1.0.1.3) and 2 messages pop up, a russian one (which I did not translate), and then a french one (which I tried to translate) :
"The specified path was not found"

Do you have any idea on how to fix the problem ?
Krazee DD, I believe you own a Mac, did you try to install the game over BootCamp ?

I hope I was clear enough so you'll understand my problem.

Computer specs:
Windows 7 X86 Professional
MacBook Pro 6.2
Intel Core i7 M620
4Go of RAM
Nvidia GT330M (512Mo)

For the record, I checked : Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty MW2, and NFS Shift still run properly.

Just figured I'd update this thread. I finally put together a new PC, Intel Core i5-2500k, Asus P8H67-M EVO, 4GB Crucial RAM, same windows installation as before (cannibalized hard drive) and the demo now plays wonderfully. Even on the onboard video .

Must have been an incompatibility with the old CPU.
