Question regarding the perks

I am playing right now on SW3 and I wanted to ask if I have the perk: Laser Proficiency to some player and on their ship I put the breserker gun which is a small gun leaser (but the only small gun leaser in the game I think) so the player will get the bonus from the perk?
and if there is a way to check it plz tell me

Yes you will get bonus to accuracy, as they are counted as lasers even they are small guns. I am using them too, when i goot some Tridents from caches and i want save money.
