good link with lots of LW info. there is a tab on the upper left to translate some of it into english...but for the most part you will have to cut and paste into MS word or google translate.

From the film Men Of Yamato. The big battleship gets a pummelling. Notice when the main turret fires at the incoming aircraft. The Yamato had anti aircraft shells for its main guns. They were designed to explode in mid air with large shrapnel. This is the only ship I have heard of using this kind of round. In reality it was not very effective but you can see it being used here and in the film it takes out a couple of incoming planes:
