Default Access Violation. Need better solution.

I've read threads about this on this forum were the game will not start up. I got this game on steam. I CANNOT update my ATI drivers. I am on a new uber g73 gaming laptop. Using new mobility drivers for ati causes MAJOR hardware failures. I can only use the ASUS drivers until either ati or asus fixes this. Using updated drivers causes the "Verticle Stripes of Death" problem common with this laptop model. PLEASE someone provide a solution OTHER than updating my graphics drivers.

What a useless forum. Not one response yet. I bought this game and I expect it to work properly.

A new patch is working in progress; I think will solve the problem.
