Yes it is theoretically possible to play COD with the keyboard BUT you will find it much more intuitive if you purchace your self a Joystick.
You don't have to have an expensive one (I bought my nephews a cheap logitek Joysitck on special for about $20.00) but it would make it a lot easier to fly and make the sim a more life like experience. I not sure if I know anyone that actually plays solely with the keyboard. Cheers! |

Get a joystick if you can, preferably one with a twist stick for rudder control. You should be able to pick up a fairly decent joystick for £20-30 and it will make flying a lot easier and more enjoyable. If you have the cash (£30-40), I'd personally recommend looking at the Saitek Cyborg FLY5 Joystick - served me well and has twisty stick, lots of buttons and two leavers which are useful for controlling throttle and propeller pitch.

Yep, go for a Joystick! Flying is possible with mouse and keyboard, but not recommendable.
And go for a Joystick, not a gamepad! My tip: Browse Ebay, maybe you can even get yourself a HOTAS-System, which I can highly recommend... (e.g. Saitek x-52).

My 0,02$: Thrustmaster T.16000M - the only "entry-level" low cost joystick with HALL sensor (same of Warthog).
