Default Ascension to the throne...Predecessor to KB???

What's going on 1c??? Have you been holding out on us???

I just learnt about this game and the game mechanics look to be VERY similar to KB. Definitely something that i am looking at to bridge being bored with KB and the release of AP.

Does anyone on this board have this game? Played it? Share anything about it?

Here's a link...

predeccessor of Kings Bounty: Legend is King's Bounty. Judging by screens, its more like fantasy wars than KB

Hi Elwin,

I thought so to at first but Fantasy Wars never had "real time movement" around the world map. A characteristic when combined with the tactical turn-based battles that is much more in line with the KB:Legend engine. I was hoping that Nike would comment on this.

thx,
DW

Well, I'm DL'ing from the 1C site.

Its priced incorrectly and is in fact only $14.99.

I'll post some feedback once I've played it a lil.

They've got this at my local EB for $10, so I'll get it if I hear that it's worth playing. I can't find a single review of it on the net (at least not in English). Anyone played this?

It seems that development started around 2003 or 2004 and it was published in 2007 (never released in usa). Can't find any reviews or player commentaries.

Default Sorry...should have posted earlier...

Hi All,

Sorry i should have responded earlier with some feedback.

I played the game for about 3-4 days and would recommend that you pass on it.

It's almost like a very early version of what KB evolved too BUT with some fatal flaws.

Biggest issue is that the game doesn't scale well...what i mean is that the early stage of the game is interesting and challenging but once you get through the first stage it becomes very easy, repetitive and simplistic.

My .02 cents, hope it helps.

Thanks, DW. I will give it a miss then. Apparently Armored Princess will be out on Oct 30, so it's only a month or so to wait.

*Runs off to play KB:TL for sixth time*

That actually looks like a predecessor to Valkyrie: Ascension to the Throne. They are both King's Bounty style, free movement around the map and troop recruitment. I have played only Valkyrie, and it was a fun game. The heroine looks really well
