When I bought my TrackIR device years ago she whined, but after I persuaded her to try it (took days), she actually changed her mind and said she understood why I bought it... To continue this allegory... The day she stops asking me about te current state of the big project I'v been running at work for a long time, I would get disappointed. Would I call those questions "whining"? Nope, they are a sign of love... (now it gets cheesy, so let's stop here ![]() |

LOL ! I did roughly the same, mate, I tried to cool down my Il-2 sim-addiction by purchasing DCS-BS last saturday, then ordered the CH Throttle on Amazon to put it asleep for some weeks ... err, days ... OK, hours... And my wife used to whine a lot more than now, at present she limits to pop in the PC room from time to time, asking innocent questions about my online dogfights, and shamelessly rejoicing and cheering if I get killed ... subtle change of tactics, very feminine ... lol. Hi Feurfalke, Let me say first that if I hurt you I apologise sincerely, I tried to lighten up the debate but I realise that I was somewhat derisory. Sorry on that. I do not like the name-calling habits from whoever, so I'm not happy about that brown-nosed stuff, especially in a forum where misunderstanding and miscommunication is so easy. We're part of the same community even though we do our best from time to time to split in two parties, like in the mods/no mods debate. That very debate should be a lesson for us all: a lot of flames, personal attacks, passion about legitimacy of using mods, for what? Nothing at all. We are still in the same old boat, all together. So maximum respect for you, mate, and for what you're doing for Il-2. The passion we share should be enough to keep us together in harmony, both the impatient critics like me, and the positive people like you, without the need to dig trenches and build walls, just exchanging opinions, and maybe hot posts, but always wth the due respect. Regards, Insuber "Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." |

Sarcasm and wit sometimes translates very badly into someone’s second tongue/language. I think we should always remember that. Although this forum is English, that may not be our mother tongue. So what some might find hilarious repartee others may feel offended. I think we should al remember that. So can we all relax now and get back to what we do best, whine Last edited by Bobb4; 05-21-2009 at 11:03 AM. |

My Wife giggles joyously when I'm in the middle of an aerial scrum and she calls my attention away to kill a spider or some such other manly task only to lose my adversary and likely snap-roll into the hill.
She's threatened many times to get on my pc while I'm at work and learn how to fly using my online nick thus totally trashing any amount of credibility or respect I may have earned over the last 8 years in this community. Accordingly, I've started turning off the power switch on the PSU. She'd never find that solution in 15 years. Better than a password too because she might call and say her laptop won't boot and she needs the password to get online to do the banking, but if it won't even turn on, it'll have to wait til I get home now won't it? ![]() TB Last edited by Thunderbolt56; 05-21-2009 at 05:14 PM. |

How many times have any of you answered the door with a tracking dot stuck on your forehead? I had an half hour conversation with 2 Jehovah's Witness's with that dot stuck on me head. I then upgraded to a vector pro clip for my hat but forgot it was on my head and only remembered whilst queuing in the super market, i was wondering why i was getting some sideways glances!! Thankfully I now use the Pro clip.

Afterall we are at home, not drinking with boys, chasing some skirt or working on some stay away from the house project at work. The wife of a friend told me she had no problem with her husband playing WOW even into wee hours of the morning. She was glad he was home, she knew where he was and she could get him to help with the baby if necessary. Then of course she is a very intelligent woman, very well educated and has enough sense to sort the real issues from emotional whines women so often use on us. My friend is very fortunate. Most of my friends who sim have emotional whiners for wives, and the only way to please them is hang around the TV set and watch the girlie boy shows, with all the limp wrist dudes sucking on their tongues while they talk. |

Pity release date pushed out to late 2010 .. we WWII fans are getting old, each year that passes, see's less of us!
![]() 17 planes, hope one is a He-111 with varing armourments - ie add 20 mm cannons for less bomb load. I would also like to see a Hampden and a fairey Battle but will be happy that modders will be allowed to add such. At least by mid 2010 i should have a NEW computer, whether it's a PC or not will be a turning point! |
