I only ask because there must be an advantage but no idea what it is, thanks.
Most of the online wars are hosted there (IL2 1946) that use the SEOW format and other online stats parsers.

Also a multitude of CooP missions and the usual DF servers.

The flight combat sim community has been using Hyperlobby for over 10 years now,
its been a place to help new pilots quickly get started and sort problems they may have with their sim/game,
the community has years of experience behind them and will usually help where they can.

Also a place to come and chat generally about stuff.

...And because all hard core flight simulation fans have been organised in virtual squadrons and HyperLobby has been the traditional place where squadrons meet to fight against each other (dogfight or organised war campaigns).

During the IL2 days there could be 900 (nine hundred) flight simmers online at Hyperlobby.
And since the majority of CoD flyers stem from IL2 background, Hyperlobby is the place to be

Hyperlobby makes it easy to get info on co-ops and to set them up.

Also the general chat makes getting help easier. Also organizing games to host and getting feedback on what settings people prefer.

Setting up times for squad nights or getting some mercenaries to go into an online war.

It is easier to see game settings and who is in the game.

It is also easier to jump to a different game room if desired.Clod to 1946 or to original Sturmovik. It is also easier to see who is in the other rooms.

As much as i love Hyperlobby.. I find this pointless if you still need Steam running in the background.. Its a shame they decided to go with Steam for multiplayer with this game..

@Cheesehawk

i was just in ATAG server threw hyperlobby and there were many other pilots in there that did not join threw hyperlobby. so it is NOT forcing anyone to use it in anyway.(just wanted you to know that)
the lobby is a great place to meet and talk and recruit.I know 1st hand that one of the great advantages of using hyperlobby is getting tech help with the game.you cannot really help anyone while they are in a server flying unless you are on comms.
Hyperlobby is very easy to use and much easier to keep track and know what servers your friends are in than using just steam. It has proven to be the place to be for flight sims. Also when recruiting it helps because speaking for myself i would not go into another squads server to recruit anyone. but you can in the lobby. Steam really does not have a lobby.
Hyperlobby has been a gathering place for hardcore flight simmers for 10 yrs and with the devotion that this community has to given to flight sims it is the place to be.
Try it You'll like it

Is HL going to force people to use it if the server is? That seems kind of heavy-handed...
Ok, firstly NO as you can direct connect, Secondly Ive not experienced anyone else having these problems and I certainly have not..I also don't see how they can be related m8

Have you done the usual...checking files etc..

Also maybe save your config's and reinstall?

HL Is a great lobby and will be much wanted and needed Im sure by the community to get CoD where Il2 was...

IL2 would of never been as big as it was if it wasn't for HL Im pretty certain of that, try the above m8 im sure its something simple
