I don't think shooting the parachutes even works in CloD, does it? I've never seen a collapsed parachute falling, or a 'limp' body.

IMO you're not right! The heaviest part of a human body is the head and the
chest! If that is so, the parachutist falls with the head down! But that is probably dependent on the height of the freefall.

I've seen senseless parachutists after a free fall collision, they fell as i described it.

The cog lies a bit below the sternum, and the heaviest part of the body is still the rump.

You could shoot down Paras in Lucas Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, circa 1991 or so? Wow, that was at its time a fantastic game!
