Advice from Blackdog above.
If you do the integrity check, you will go back to the last official version (before all the recent betas). If you uninstall everything, download and reinstall, it will also get you to the latest official version. So, they do the same thing, but the integrity check takes less time. I prefer the integrity check My checklist: 1) Verify integrity of local files (to get back to last official version) 2) Go to your documents\1c softclub\IL-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover folder and go into the cache folder. Delete everything in there (the game will rebuild it based on the new version next time you run the sim). 3) Extract the beta patch in the game folder (c:\whatever_you_named_it\steam\steamapps\common\I L-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover) and let it overwrite anything it wants to overwrite 4) Run the sim one to force it to rebuild the cache. 5) Start a free flight quick mission to force it to add anything else it might need in the cache. 6) Exit the sim. 7) Restart the sim. Now you can test your frame rates with a clean install of the latest beta, as well as a correct cache folder for your version. If you skip steps 5,6,7 you might see that initially you get worse performance, because the game might still be adding files to the cache. However, the next time you start it, it will be better and you will get the true performance. __________________ Thanks very much Blackdog, this looks like sound advice. I wonder whether this could go under Black6's post so all can see it? Last edited by ATAG_Septic; 06-29-2012 at 04:04 PM. |

Look forward to hearing everyone's reports. I hope this new beta patch is a step in the right direction.
Looking at that video I didn't notice anything different about the tracers. Maybe they don't burn out so quick and you can see them a little longer? But they look very similar to me. |

Ok performace wise, this is the slowest the sim has ever run for me, 40fps average on BD compared to 59 for the previous beta, hell I was getting 44 prior to the gfx rewrite. Will re-install later and double check.

Bliss, you've intrigued me, stuck at work, can't play yet...
What's the changes to the FM you're referring to? New Spits or did the 109s get nerfed?

Hi - I'm still downloading it atm, but I thought there was supposed to be new octane levels and a couple new hurricane variants + some other work on the FMs. Maybe that's not till the official patch?
