Attn Reflected and Kristorf:

I'm happy to see that COD allows skinners to choose to horizontally align Spitfire ID code letters, or "Step" them.

Reflected's ZP+A, historically correct as aligned
Kristorf's LZ+F, historically correct as non-aligned, i.e. stepped

In every screen capture duing the many months of updates, every Spit shown had 'Stepped' letters, which was the much lesser used code lettering/painting scheme...the majority being horizontally aligned. A number of the Update WIP Spit's were incorrectly lettered.

I don't have COD...Do all the default Spit skins still have the letters 'stepped'??

Also, for those that do not have it, here is a link to the Holy Grail of information on every single Spitfire ever to roll off the production line, in excruciating detail. Every Spit skinner interested in historical accuracy should have this Reference document. http://www.spitfires.ukf.net/home.htm

For example, on this page one can find the details on N3029, which earlier in this thread had incorrectly been identified as having been assigned to 610 Sqdn. http://www.spitfires.ukf.net/p002.htm

...and here one can find the information on X4102, confirming that it had code letters DW+K...and that it was flown only 11 days in BofB before it was damaged by a Bf109 and subsequently crashed ('crash-landed') on 24 August 1940. [Since that was the end of that aircraft, I'd give the German credit for a kill. He probably didn't get it at the time] http://www.spitfires.ukf.net/p014.htm

...and here is a central location for scores of Spit profiles for reference (usually but not always accurate historically) http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/52/9

Reflected, beautiful skin mate.
Out of interest, weren't the elevator flaps reversed on Malan's skin? So on the night side, the elevator was white, and vice-versa for the other side?

Lovely work gents Can't wait until i have a PC good enough to run this.
