If you're really interested in a solution rather than simply complaining, see ATAG_Doc's post #10 in this thread here.

There are also some screenshots of mine in the thread, showing the cockpit and wing of a Spit with these settings.

Edit: Where it says 'WRC 2010' in the control panel, it should of course say 'launcher.exe'. This was due to the Nvidia beta driver recognising the app wrongly. This is no longer the case with the official Nvidia v3.06 driver.
Thanks I will try that, but no AA forcing I have tried thus far has made much difference. The landscape continues to shimmer (shadows too, but that is something else).

I still do not see why they cannot provide bug fixes for this broken software after the next patch without paying for them. That is really a dishonest business model.

Well, every tree shadow I've seen in my garden shimmers too, owing to the movement of leaves in the breeze, so I suppose that's a matter of opinion too.

As to bug fixes after the patch, maybe we'd better wait and see what they do fix in the patch, before complaining about what they don't.

Building shadows shimmer too. That's not a matter of opinion. London all the shadows shimmer. As for the trees I have never seen that much vibrating shadows when I am airborne in RL. Its pretty bad looking. My opinion and many others too.

Yes ok, I heard you the first time. I'm not here for an argument. There are many things I'm not happy with too.

Have a go with the AA settings though. They really do work very well indeed. You will notice that the lettering in 'NetStats' is slightly blurred, but the settings clean up your picture dramatically.

Thanks I'm just waiting for my registration to clear over at ATAG as everything is on private for me right now and I can't get to the thread.

Thumbs up

I am going to repeat this for some you.

When IL2 Sturmovik was released version 1.0 there were problems. Things were alot simpler then because we were using 32mB video cards, and other much less sophisticated computer systems.

Technology has seriously advanced since those days and graphic standards have gone into orbit compared to those days.

Yes, IL2 had problems and the UbiSoft forums were a rage for over a year after IL2 was released. The devs were patching and releasing carefully, because the rage became unbearable with bad patches.

Patches were just downloaded zip files and the process was simple for updating.

The IL2 devs final solution to most of the problems with IL2 came in the Sequel "Forgotten Battles". It was a success, and we never looked back.

Those of us that enjoy air combat flight simulation, a video making utility, a mission and campaign builder, online battles that catch the cheats, etc. We will have to bite the bullet and stay the term, which means after the next patch there will probably be issues...

The sequel was how it was done before, and it looks like it will be the same this time as well. So, you are going to have to pony up some more money and buy the sequel.

It isn't worth a complaint, because the majority of us would have gladly paid double the price of COD in the beginning.

Be patient, and feel good. Luthier and the dev team are still striving to produce the air combat simulator application...that will be second to none.

IMO, note I say in my opinioin. I would prefer the sequel not to update the previous COD version. I would prefer just like "Forgotten Battles" that it be a completely new release with everything from the COD included (not the bugs).

Wash all that COD stuff behind us and move onto better things...

Start anew with a completely competent and exciting new air combat flight sim application.

yep second to none, not only because it will be the best, but also because, apart RoF, there will be nothing else in the sky
ED DCS-BS2 is just the same (20$ for an update, strangely no one is arguing about that)
Microsoft Flight project has already gone sour

See you later angry alligator ^^

For a high fidelity sim like DCS:BS, its chump change. And with the update came, you know, actual updates. Also it works. Thats alot more than CLoD.

By the time (if they dont go under due to lack of funding), 1C makes this playable, you dont know if there will be competition from a another dev that knows to make a sim or not.

We're singing the same tune Nearmiss me ole china!

Now if they'd just include a flyable Wellington and/or Beaufighter in the sequel in additon to the Eastern Front models and some snowy landscape...........
