Picture showing mountain lake which shows a reflection which is in fact a hole through the terrain showing you what is in the distance.

This is on the Slovakia (online) map, 8800GTS 512Mb card with 169.21 drivers.

This is the IL-2 engine "bug" - but during flying it is not visible.

The patch? Well I'm glad it's free cuz at this point there's very little there. My 8800GT enjoys eating the LandGeom=3. There is a noticable diff but nothing heart stopping.

The maps are nice for those awesome persons that are the "Map Makers"

If there are sounds I missed that. Of course I have been running the new sounds and all else sounds a bit lame

Skins - Eastern Front so nothing I fly regularly.

I would be remiss to call this a version patch. It should have been an update to 4.08m.

Maybe there is more to come? I'm no pro at this so maybe there's something I missed.

Enjoy the patch, Happy New Year

Read only? that won't actually give me the "3" though will it? I assume its putting it back to "2" because it thinks it can't support it? - I'll try it tho.

Sorry, I didn't read your post clearly.. Yes, I think you hit on it. I had an entry already and added a new one. I deleted the one I added and changed the other one to 3. Now it "sticks". Thanks!

Yep, I originally had the same oddity. No problems now. Give it a try!

Bessarabia from 10,000 meters.

The new visibility distance is a tremendous improvement.

I did find a frame rate sink hole on that map however. The city of Bacau sucks the life out of my video card. Odd as Odessa which is much larger runs smooth as glass.

So far things are running very well on all of the new maps.

Smile Feedback on 4.09m beta from DFLion

I have just managed to download both patch and skins - everything looking very good so far, especially map of Slovakia (a masterpiece).

My new system (high-end)
OS - XP Professional (still at 32bit)
MOBO - Gigabyte P35-DS4
Processor - Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 - 4 x 86
Ram - 4GB Corsair
Video card - XFX Nividia Geforce 8800 Ultra
Sound card - SB Fatality X-FI Xtremegamer

Flying in 'perfect' mode the new maps are superb. Also the new skins are great, though some times I get a 'white flicker' on the skin artwork (I may need the latest driver?)
Increased buffer size works much better when flying over buildings - smoother building renditions.
Water looks much better and more realistic (green instead of black).
Increased visability is a huge plus - high detail is rendered right to the horizon at ground level, in the air, at height -fantastic.
I am having no problems with clouds and their shadows - they look very good.

Thanks to all the teams involved with this patch - it was a long time coming, though certainly worth the wait. I hope some of these new innovations helps in the BOB development.

Happy New Year to Oleg and his team from the land of OZ.

minor flaw (1st I've spotted in hours flying around): There are a couple of buildings straddling the railway track in the town of Liptovsky Hradok (P10 Slovakia offline)

again, wonderful map - very much enjoying it

I was flying a coop tonight, and we all noticed that there weren't any train tracks that led into the wonderful train yard in Handlova on the Slovakia map. [Sector I-7] Here is a pic. I again want to thank you for all of your hard work. The new maps are fantastic.
