well not had much time on it but so far i think it rocks there are a lot of ppl postin crap about it but ive had none of the probs as long as you dont try to play it like a run n gun game like cod then you will do well but if you try n play gun an run style you are going to die a lot!!!!! this game forces you to think about your next move i dont think you will be completing this game too quick which is a good thing

just ignore the doom mongers and enjoy the game for what it is awsome

It's fantastic, it has some bugs which need fixing, and some conneciton problems with the netcode, but apart from that its a GREAT game, Buy it, and enjoy it.

I look forward to it being patched, but on the PC it must be amazing with so many players!!!

I'd like to know what getting the XP and ranking achieves e.g. better weapons or scopes or the ability to call in air support etc.

But PC is probably the BEST format to play this game on.

They basically made the old game, gave it better graphics and a better story, it's EVERYTHING it should have been!

shame you cant drive civilian vehicles like you used to, and there's no planes.

But on the whole..... 8/10.

No no no, the original had a great story and had an EPIC campaign that took you from grunt to platoon leader to tank commander to attack helicopter pilot. Some missions you were marines others special forces and even one as an evading downed pilot and all the missions were very varied.

OFDR has a 6 hour infantry campaign where every mission is the same, there are no vehicles to drive other than jeeps, no tanks, no attack choppers, no apc's, nothing. You can't explore the island, leave the AO and it's mission failed.

Dragon Rising is NOTHING like the original, other than it uses the words Operation Flashpoint in it's title.

This is what i think needs to be done...free mode with or without enemies with like 8 of your friends (kinda like PARTY MODE for GTA IV) but if you put enemies on they will concentrate on your position and you also have access to heli's tank ect;/ That would be sweet, fun, awesome. Also bugs need fixing and bullet holes in cars will be awesome.

I tried signing up on the OFPDR forums, but i'm having trouble. I just want to state some problems and a free roam mode thing. Plus, i also wanna say how stupid it would be if they add a lean function, which most forum people want.

I agree to that somewhat...free mode would be cool, and yes, more SP vehicles would be sweet, but come on, its still an awesome game. They dumbed it down too much.

incorrect im afraid all the missions are not the same some of them you play as saber team spec opps some as infantry and yes you can use apc,s ive used them once on the 3rd mission to retake and hold the village and also ive used once on the capture the airfield mission ive put more than six hours into the single player campain allready and id say im about half way through it so i think the six hour statment is rubbish and if you cant use tanks and helos etc why does the manual clearly give you the controls for each one ?? i mean if you cant use any of them what would be the point of that im sure codemasters are not going to put that info in the maual just to take the pee now are they ?? i think a lot of negative stuff that is being thrown around is that some ppl cant play this game and so they want it to fail

I've put in a fair few hours this weekend (hardcore mode obviously) and am loving it, even last nights swearfest with Sleep trying, and failing repeatedly*, to complete mission 3 on co-op.
Best thing you can do IMO is put a "Ghost Recon" (not graw...it doesn't deserve capitols) sticker over the "operation Flashpoint" logo on the box and it'll make much more sense.

Getting a game of MP is a serious PITA for me right now but I've enjoyed what I've played, the main problem is lag giving a serious host advantage right now.
Driving the M1 about on the second map was just too much fun, cant wait till I can actually get some practice in on the helis.

*-and mostly not by any fault of our own I must add.

i agree with you mate mission 3 can be a challange im only going through the missions on normal at the moment and its taxing me so cant wait till i redo it on hardcore

not had much experiance with the mutiplayer much yet i had a quick game with house and his friend the other day and it seemed to run smooth but that was it so i cant really comment on the lag or anything yet

damn where did you get the M1 from on the second mission ?? you are talking about the saber insertion where you have to take out the sunburn missile site ?? i loved that mission all the sneaking past the look out posts and then when you blow the sunburn all hell breaks loose i lost count of how many times i got caught out by there attack helo and got chewed to pieces lol

and to everyone posting about all the bugs etc remember il2 has many probs and bugs at the minute but i dont see ppl ripping that to hell so why dont we just wait for the update just like we are for il2 and things will be fine

either way i got my two fav game on me xbox now so im more than a happy bunny il2 and fpdr hoohar!!!
