I think Oxnard is the only starting place just like for HT2 and KOTR it was South Gate.

Well in cities night looks bright because of the light al around there but farther from cities like in this screenshot http://rignroll.com/i/1-0,14.jpg look like if you turn of your headlights you will see nothing and soon find yourself by the road with wheels up

héhé you are an angel and shows me a good pic of the night , let's hope it will be very dark like in real life, maybe the sky should be darker too, hopefully if they don't make it well , we will be able to adapt the colours etc...

Gone gold yay!!! It will cost around 20 dollars when converted from rubels. That is the Russian version which I'm going to buy next friday. Wait for the detailed review guys.
