Thumbs up

Funny everyone is so enthralled with the London scenery.

I'd like to see a good fighters vs fighters air battle over London with variations in the number of planes, until the FPS starts to drag.

Hopefully, it will take a large number of fighters in combat to drag down the FPS.

With the new patch installed of course

Not to be a downer but imo
1. The city looks decidedly unimpresive, the textures look low res and ugly, not to mention its still creating fps problems.
2. In the distance there is no city just trees/grass, then suddenly buildings are magiced into existence, whats the point of being able to see that far if what you look at is not whats there? I would rather have limited distance/view because its less obnoxious.
3. London looks completely lifeless

I know its early days - hopefully these things are remidied, but atm I am very unimpressed by the city.

You forgot to mention which imaginary sim manages to do a large city better.

I recall buying an addon for the FSX that was great for night flying.

Cities were lighted and there were lights moving on the highways like you would see at night.

I liked the night flying, because it was closer to real. The navigation, the ATC, the charts, the whole instrument flight thing in all it's glory.

Too bad, I wanted to shoot at aircraft more than I wanted to follow strict instrument flights and make approaches/departures.

Never said there was, I am not comparing it to another sim, but to what hardware and software in 2011 is capable of.

Also WOP has a large Berlin map which looks better and runs flawlessly, and its a console game (then again it is also really well threaded on the PC).
