Playing the Red Skies of Dover mission of the demo this morning on Realistic. Took a few potshots at an HE-111 on the left side of a formation of three, and ended up taking out the pilot. The 111 drifted right into the plane next to it, colliding perfectly and destroying them both instantly, a piece of the second 111's right wing slashing the tail section off a third 111 on it's right.

Can't wait for the full experience tomorrow.

This reminds me an anecdote i read about a British pilot relating one of his flights during the Battle of Britain...

He explained that he was right on the tail of a Ju 87 Stuka. He opened fire, the German pilot tried to evade his follower and rammed into the Ju 87 right next to him....

That must have been quite spectacular...

I was flying a IL2- over Berlin on the Reichstag mission.

Anyway I'm getting nailed by 109s and Me262s but I managed to hold it together.

anyway I get a 262 on my tail and he opens up with his guns so I try and lose him by going into a steep dive. not the best of ideas since I was well under 1000ft when I started anyway I somehow manage to pull up with my left wing almost hitting the side of a house and my tail practically touching the floor.

the Me262 had followed me into the dive failed to recover and went nose straight into ground. that was pretty sweet.

Cool

Had the best online game so far tonight.
3 on 3 teambattle over the cliffs over dover, Spit IIs versus BF109e3s, English versus American players, SS Blackcobra, Minuteman and IRISHCSA in the German planes against myself, mjaytee and GRR69 (for whom this was their second ever online game) in the Spitfires...

...21 kills each after the twenty minute match, with the last kill to tie the game for the German side was a boom and zoom to cover a team mate who was about to die, with only 15 seconds of the match to go.

Fantastic.

Had a run of great games last night. The new awesome moment was;

Im banking left in my Spitfire MkIX to roll in to the six of an enemy 109. I complete the roll in and promptly get a burst of cannon fire right in the engine. One of his team members had rolled in from the other side just behind me and I didnt see him. I take a second burst that clips both wings, and a third in the tail. So now my planes all shot up to hell but still flying. My crates smoking white and black, my wings are shot to hell, and my rudder is all chewed up. The enemy is still right on my tail, and I finally manage to select him (strike game over enemy base = target selection nightmare :/ ), all the while trying get him to disengage by flying erratically.

We were flying at treetop level and below, snaking left and right barrel rolling like mad and I realise there now Hurricane on my tail to. I manage to wrong foot the 109 by litterally skimming the water with the tip of my wing while coming out of a banked split-s. But I still cant shake the Hurricane. I make a slight error in my turning angle and he sees his chance and tries to slide up closer for the kill shot. I realise hes gaining on me, and I throw the engine to 0% and pull into a rolling angled dive. He follows me so I do a full spiral infront of him with my nasty black engine smoke, with its oily screen blurring residue.

Im pretty sure I gunked his view, as he then shoots right past me as I start to stall from the radical loss of thrust. I gun the engine with WEP to recover and he rake him with a 2 second burst from the Spitfire guns. He pulls up right in to my line of fine and my cannon shells tear right through his wings like toilet paper. The BOTH snap off, leaving the poor sod sitting in a tin bath with an engine!

I laughed my ass off for a good 5 mins after that.

Having unlocked the B17, both me and a friend took them online into a strike game...

we formed up and then headed tp the target.... it was a nice sight, two B17's flying together with some "little friends" looking out for us.

En route to the set of targets we picked, we noticed a couple of enemies at 1 o clock high, they had seen us to. We asked out little friends to go get em, but they couldnt assist, they were to busy engaging the enemy bombers elswhere that were heading for our targets...

we were on our own!!

The targets drew nearer and then got within range.....

between 2 B17's they can put up alot of firewpower.........

in a matter of seconds one of the targets was down, a ball of flames heading to the deck. We felt pretty safe in these big bombers, they could deal alot of punishment!!
The second target had made one head on pass at us and got a few rounds off but nothing to serious, (it was in this pass that we took out the other target), on his second pass he was coming from our 5 o clock high... as he got closer......

BANG

my wing is taken off and im falling out of the sky!!!

i couldnt figure it out, i wasnt the lead bomber, and i had eyes on the enemy fighter... he didnt fire off a single round, he was well out of range, so why am i going down in a ball of flames... wtf is gonig on....

Im screaming down the mic... telling my mate in the lead bomber that their must be another fighter lurking about because he's taken me out!! to which he replied....

Erm.... no theirs not. Sorry mate, i was trying to fire a few sneaky rounds at the enemy at our 5 o clock....only trying to scare him off..... i accidentaly shot you instead mate. Sorry.

Well played!!!

LOL.

Still.... we managed to make the targets and deal alot of damage with the B17's. A great game.

Hi everyone, I'm using this account as Soviet Ace (real name will not be said) allows me to use it.

I just had a cool little fight online with "Soviet Aces" Yak-3, against some 190As, and let me tell you. With the new control figuration for our AV8R, I can quickly smoke them. I just did in fact.

I was alone but against two other people who were flying the 190As, and neither one of them could put a hole in "Soviet Aces" Yak. Unlike me, who put several hundred machine-gun rounds, and canon rounds into them. So I guess it just goes to show, that Soviet Women pilots can be much better.

Peace/Love!!
