Sorry Chivas I don't agree with you, they will have to do something to win back the trust and a time limited demo (or an open beta) would be the way to go. Microsoft has time limited betas for some software so where is the problem.
You have also stated that we should go on reviews by those that we trust with the sequel, who do we trust?. A lot of those posting in the forums could be classed as "fan boys", I certainly wouldn't trust their opinions. After seeing how the supporters of the Il2 series have been hung out to dry with the C.o.D. I certainly won't trust the developers with the sequel without proof, their specs will no longer mean anything to those who have waited 18 months only to be told that C.o.D. is finished.

CloD is what it is with its strong points and flaws. The thing that worries me are Ilya's words "in a very near future". Having spend quite lot of time in Russia it is my experience that the word "future" in Russian often means "never". Hopefully not this time.

Good call, the sensible way to go.

Well, i think that the devs can make the best combat flight sim ever:

Just that deserves one year of wait and my money spend. If you call this "unfinished" ou think it's a piece of crap, i don't think so, i like this software A LOT!

Bye!

Well, I personally feel I've gotten my money's worth from the game - and I still have a lot left to do. I've spent over 100 hours in the game and I know I'll spend hundreds more. That's a hell of a lot of time for a small inexpensive purchase. I've paid more for other games and played less time.

Yes, it isn't perfect, but it's definitely playable and a hell of a lot of fun.

So if they can make a nice DM its a complete game? Way to set your expectation bar, on what a great sim is.

Glad you can enjoy the game....doesnt change the fact its still unfinished, and support is over for it.

DCS has just as impressive DM. Also is complete, and still being updated, added to, and working as advertised. See that is the difference.

The lack of a mappable zoom axis makes me so angry every time I try and play the game I give up.
It just shows how incompetent 1C is as a developer and I have no faith now in anything they promise or do.
The best way to improve the sequel would be to have 777 or Eagle Dynamics do it.

Nice eye candy of a damage model in an otherwise unplayable game

Microsoft can afford to have all the demos it would like. The new IL-2 developement has neither the time or the money to waste on a Demo. I didn't say to trust fanboy reviews, I said find one you could trust, maybe check out the reviewers that gave COD poor reviews last time and see if things have changed. Its all common sense, use it. There will be plenty of reviews, you should be able to figure it out.

The fact that YOU can't assign an incremental, smooth and functional zoom axis/button just shows how YOU are incompetent.
