yep, bubble tops = more drag......

wasn't the fastest 51's the razors that were cleared for 25lbs boost for a limited time in summer of '44 and early '45?

[QUOTE=Richie;444721]That's good to know. I wonder if it's being restored to flight or not. Ks had bigger wheels and a touch wider foundation for the gear so they probably were a little less hairy on the ground. Plus the long tail wheel made for a little better vision. Like I said so hard to find pictures of Ks.

I like the wider wheels and the longer tailwheel. Its funny the longer tailwheel should be standard feature on the K-4 but there are some pix of a K-4 (last WK numbers 265) with the short tail wheel. Many were retrofitted in the field. This K-4 was build near Regensburg and transfered to an little airfield near Amberg / Oberpfalz / Bavaria. It was found abondoned there. On this little field test flights were made, when the plane got a go it was transferred to the units.

Oh, now i see, the second link DB sent is the plane wich i meant. Cool.

Hi Richie,

look what i have found for the restoring K-4.

There are lots of original parts at hand, that are used for rebuilding the aircraft in a functional display condition.

I think as this is/would be the only K-4 its too risky to loose it.

S!
