You are almost correct; many of us just have pride and expect others to be the same. If you are going to do a mediocore or just passable job-don't bother. The expectations of CoD and the build up by 1C, Oleg and Luthier have left much to be desired. The way they would talk about this game you would expect it to be perfect and accurate to a fault. This isn't rocket science here, only programming and artistic ability. You cannot build a game with no time schedule and expect anything but the way things have turned out. If the game fails it has nothing to do with the sim community or Ubisoft...Oleg and Luthier will have to look in the mirror and blame themselves and get a real project manager to help them with their next projects

CoD is solid under the hood, it's just the panels that need work. The DMs are just astounding and the CEM blows 1946 away, no-one can argue with that, surely. Just engage the community and give them something constructive to work towards - there are lots of clever people here who have a lot to offer (not me, obviously ) and I think this would neutralise many forum problems.

Some people take pride in their work too, I build computers for a living, if you were to buy one from me it would work straight out of the box, that's what you would expect. however if I sold you a PC and it didn't work and I offered you little to no explanation, other than to send you an email saying that hopefully it should be working within a few months and I then mostly ignored your calls and pleas, well you would be one upset bunny. The cost is irrelevant, it's the service and the honesty of the supplier /manufacturer that's important.

On a more serious note gentlemen,

~S~
This is serious

If you did not understand the post I made, I will accept its down to a language barrier as it refers the the amount of profanity used in this forum of late, if you don't understand in future its better to ask or say nothing.

Now carry on all and keep it clean .

Honestly I would not ask much of a community manager if they gave us one. Simply saying "yes this is a known bug, it is getting fixed" in the bug threads throughout this forum would make alot of people happy. Luthier clearly does not have the time to actively visit the forums anymore.

Yes but that community manager will need to be on a payroll, and that diverts funds from paying decent 'non saboteur' programmers, and think of it this way, who is going to tell the community manager how things are going? if they have the time to explain it to them then they may as well explain it to us......?

Yes, it's a good point, bongodriver. That is exactly my experience with community managers on other forums - they just have to go away and ask for the answer by email which presumably takes the same time to type as it would on a forum page! Not sure of the usefulness to be honest, at least whilst the primary discussion topic is bugs which can be handled much more efficiently by a tracking system.
