I for my part would be pissed if they delay simply because of the fact that Ubi takes the complete money for the preorder. Thats only OK if they keep the promised releasedate. Otherwise its SCAMMING people for their money.

I think there are a lot of people here that want the product so badly they'll even forgive and compromise if there are a few major bugs and some important features left out, me too. Newcomers will not, and I remember clearly how a few brilliant games went down the drain due to publishers releasing prematurely. The IL-2 series are among the most stable pieces of software I have ever encountered in 28 years, so whatever the reason, if it's delayed, it's delayed for a good reason.

My account was not debited by Ubi after I preordered.
They state that debit will occur at the date of shipping.
Paid by card
Is that different in your country?

One gets the impression that Ubi made the March announcement without properly consulting Maddox Games anyway. Oleg didn't seem to endorse it at all.

Ubisoft Finland still has the March, 24 2011 release date. Let's hope and plug and pray

I really think that everyone should relax - it could just be a website cock-up...and as others have said March 24/25 IS Spring, so nothing may have changed beyond some web admin choosing a different form of words.

On one hand, we complain about the missing features, on the other one we complain about the possibility of release getting pushed back probably to implement said features.

Is it just me or does it look like it's a case of either one or the other?

This reminds me of a short comic strip i once saw in Mad magazine. There's Darth Vader consulting with his imperial officers on the spaceship shipyard docks where the Death Star is being built and one officer goes:
"Lord Vader, to finish the Death Star within the specified deadlines would require the entire population of the empire, from prisoners to the emperor himself, to work 28 hours per each standard 24 hour day"

To which Darth responds "Make it happen... i'm a sadist, not a mathematician"

The game will be released when Oleg is satisfied that the compromises don't conflict with Oleg's uncompromising attitude towards quality. Now perhaps we should compromise our incomprehensible impatience with a bit of reason, and cut him some bloody slack.
