Indeed I have a 560 Ti with only 1 gb vram and I run the game beautifully on high across the board at 1920 x 1080.

Troll?

How dare you.

I've been at this longer than you son. I've beta tested for the dev team in the past, I've beta tested for TD, I've flown every single version, map, plane, mission type, offline and on, since 2001. And not once in that time have I ever felt so let down as I have with Cliffs of Dover. It's a rushed (after 6 years?) Alpha build. Nothing more.

The patches fix one thing and break two more. NO substantial progress is being made. If you think so then you are nothing more than a hopeless fan boy. And I should know, I once was a fan boy of Oleg's work myself. But Oleg is out of the picture and IL2 is dead.

This title needs at least six months to a year's constant development to be at a point where it is fit for release. Do you really you think 1C is going to keep bleeding Rubles for that long?

Illya has less than a month to pull this off.

I frankly don't think it's possible.

And if you think I am happy about that, then you really have no clue.

On my old Core 2 Duo E8400 with 6Gb DDR2 with a GTX580 I get 40-80 fps in most situations (weird combo but I'm waiting for my new chassis so I have replaced the GTX275 that was in that rig before with the card for the new 2600k rig that is now in a pile of boxes ). With my old 275 it was good too with the latest patches - got 30+ fps on the Black Death track with everything on high...
If that's true, which is unlikely, then Lego Star Wars much be horribly optimized just like CoD. It's ridiculous to expect people to have one of the top 10 graphics cards available considering what the published system requirements are.

Only when(IF EVER) this game is taking full advantage of the resources it's given can anyone make claims as to what graphics cards should or shouldn't work with it.

Any hard feelings I might slowly be getting for the devs aside:

Latest Beta patch brings no significant gain in performance. More stuttering/microwarps over highly populated areas, increase the longer you fly over such areas (i.e. LeHavre, London).

Since I am also one of the few people that fly online regularly, here's a few observations:

Overall good FPS, drops over polulated areas and when the animated brown-ish dust on a landing/crahsing plane comes up.

Sound randomly completely drops when a new group of AI a/c is spawned.

Bailing out makes your plane disappear on any server running the latest beta.

Landed planes over enemy territory do not count as a kill.

Landing over enemy territory will keep your plane on ground for a long time (no despawn). Any AI AAA Gun in the area will fire at that plane and not pick up other targets.

Significant lag on a server when you leave it. You can sometimes watch from the server list screen, how your name will only be removed from the server after a couple of minutes.

Depends on how solid they think the mid-long term business plan is I guess. With a couple of steam sales to bring in volume followed by paid DLC expansions 1C could have a nice earner. OM's leaving is certainly ominous, though.

Whilst I agree that CoD is not ready for market (more like beta I think) I am not sure this means the whole endeavour is doomed to fail. I get the feeling that the original vision for CoD was breathtakingly ambitious; I.e. to build an engine fully capable of simulating much more than flight. Whilst admirable in scope the devs evidently didn't focus nearly hard enough on the critically important flight sim elements. Almost like they were trying to get two for the price of one out of the development funding.

The question now is how long it will take to polish the important elements of the flight sim. Frankly, I'm encouraged by the last few weeks. Sure, lots of problems but also lots of progress.

[QUOTE=anavas44;279897]I'm very sad to say this, but with the latest beta patch I only get "Launcher.exe has detected a problem and it will close" and can't play.

The same here!!!!!!

Maybe i have something set wrong in Nvidia s settings. Wich are the best settings, or what do i have to enable or what must i disable?

CORRECTION!!!!!!

Hi W0ef,

thanks to your guide i managed to play the sim (single player mission) without any crashes. It seems that i did not set conf.ini to default at all. So i deleted it started this great sim again. Now it is working well.

I think there should be an extra topic with HOW TO INSTALL BETA PATCHES CORRECTLY!!!

Thanks once again and S!

PS: Here i want to thank you all (members too) who are supporting, testing and helping us simmers tomake this sim working at all!
