Nice to see that Nvidia has some tricks up their sleeve still. AMD has been dominating the Price/Performance spot for so long they've been getting complacent. With new generations of "super cards" that means that todays affordable cards can only get cheaper.

Nice to see that the GPU market is still competitive, unlike the CPU market.

I don't think I will need to upgrade my card for a couple of years. So I can relax about buying this one. The GTX580 with 3gig of ram hoots in all games including COD on my 42" LCD.

So when the patch comes with improved graphics then I am already sitting pretty.

Did I mention I LOVE CLIFFS OF DOVER!!!

I really shouldn't be looking at this thread. It will be a long time till I am able to afford one of these puppies!

In penance for the last 10 years of neglecting my wife, yesterday I took her out with my 'upgrade' cash and bought her a diamond ring!

Still I gess it's all swings and roundabouts! By the time I can afford to upgrade the 680 will be entry level!

Hows the testing going?

Here a review!

I'll get one as soon as Gigabyte will put their version on sale.

I will never ever again buy anything from ASUS after the experience I've had with their Striker Extreme I and II motherboards. Maybe the new Transformer Prime HD (to streaam games from my PC )

I can't believe there are Kepler cards out there that you can buy.

Why didn't the big reviewing sites get reference cards to test beforehand? That's a new one by Nvidia.

They did but they couldn't talk about it due to NDA which was lifted at 15.00 yesterday.

I'm not sure there are reports that the 680 is more like the 570 so if the 685 is the flagship single chip gpu then ati will be blown away, not sure if that's true will be very impressed if it is though.

I am pretty sure we will see a bigger singel GPU model (GK110?) coming out during the summer og fall with a dual gpu after that.
Secondly, there are cards with custom coolers, pre-OC'ed and more v-ram inbound. It just takes a few months before they show up as always

If anyone wants a new card and is not an impatient idiot like me, should wait for the GK110 or the newer revisions with even better coolers and such
The GTX680 looks to be an awesome card but i firmly believe that Nvidia has a really mean bastard hiding out there.

S!

I just wish I could do the jump to Ivy Bridge and X79 chipset..I bet my GPU is more than adequate for my needs for now. Will re-evaluate later on after initial release honeymoon of 680GTX is over Wisest would be to wait for the next versions later this year, even AMD might have something cooking as well! Good times for consumers, bad times for their wallets
