Clickable cockpits are entirely over-rated IMHO.
They are counter intuitive, and in no way replicate the control manipulations required by a real pilot. A real, well trained pilot will simply reach for the desired control and use it. In a sim with clickable cockpits you are forced to change your view, fumble with a mouse, and maybe it will "grab" the control on the first try, but maybe not, all the while you are not looking out of the perspex and more than likely you are seconds for augering in. A waste of programming time. I want a combat simulator, not a control procedure simulator.

The only thing about the CFS series that I miss is the ability to select from all the available fuel tanks. With the MS "game" I ended up using keyboard commands for RPM and Mixture control, because the Mouse/Hand didn't give me the sort of fine control I needed.
The IL2 series is a work of art, and BOB is going to be even better! |

Why not combine the control methods -> cockpit clickable but you can also use key - commands that you can map to your hotas.
That means more possibilities to control the plane and with the hotas you are not worse off like now in il2.

In a sim that already has the CPs then great.. it isnt for me but.... IMO n the case of a newer sim... I agree with El... clickable pits are a waste of time... assignable commands are much better IMO.. With the HOTAS becoming more common... |

Mouse clickable cockpits switches is a pain-in-the-*ss in BOB WOV...BUT mapping those switches to a Hotas is very immersive.
