I think the point is, that's really what a community manager would be dealing with.
I applaude the dev team for making so much communication on their own at this point (Look around, you'll find dev teams that do not communicate at all, and only use global mods to say things)
Once a community manager gets put in place, this problem with hopefully be non-existant.
Whilst I agree that there should be more communication, I'm also sorry for the devs and understand that they are in a place of high pressure surrounding the US release. If you were them - with your reputation on the line for a single day, the US release, you would be working on the game rather than sitting watching forums too.
The truth is, developers do not need forums to help wipe out bugs they already have documented in more detail than we could ever get at this point, and the community will come in useful once those bugs are gone and they can relax again.
I can see both sides of the arguement here, and both have serious weight. But I have to sway on the side of the devs, just because of the pressure and timeframe they are under.
